Phenomenal food! I heard it was good, but was pleasantly surprised! The Filet was great and the drinks were strong!

I experienced Grille 66 with my foodie son and there was not 1 thing that I could find fault with everything was 1st class from my food to our server Tony who was on his game. I've been here before with my wife and have never had a bad experience and always leave looking forward to my next visit. It's definitely pricey but you do get what you pay for.

Absolutely horrendous. Food descent at best service pathetically bad. Rude, unprofessional all the way from servers to managers. Plenty of other good spots to go around the area, don't waste your time or money.

Food was delicious. Service was great. I had the sea bass and it was delightful. The dining area looked amazing. The outdoor dinning is nice as well with a great view. Perfect place for a date night. Had a great time here and will be coming back.

On any other night, this would probably be a 5 star rating because the food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent, but alas, this wasn't the night. This is a place to go when you're celebrating (or just have enough $$$ to be a regular). My wife and I went out celebrate our anniversary and her landing an exciting new job. My Open Table comments indicated as much. The restaurant couldn't have been more indifferent. I'm not expecting anything free or a red carpet, but when I used Open Table to make reservations for last year's anniversary dinner, the staff at the restaurant I chose knew our names and greeted us by them after checking in, they chose a nice, private table with a killer view, and added the nice touch of writing "congrats" on our dessert plate. Grille 66 did nothing. Maybe they didn't get the message or maybe it was my fault for canceling the original reservation and replacing it? At any rate, the service was very prompt, professional, and friendly so no serious points off for that... Onto the food- lobster cocktail and stone crabs here make me wonder why people fuss over the nonsense that is Joe's. Both winners for flavor and I didn't have to tip the maitre'd $200 for a table. I had the sea bass- excellent, but the accompanying spinach could've used a pinch of salt. My wife had the fra diavolo, which was amazing. It was spicy, so it's not for everyone, but we loved it. The chocolate cake was pretty much perfect. So, some minor quibbles- prior to being seated, we were not asked if we preferred inside or outside seating, the mens' urinals nearly over flowed when one was flushed, and on my way to the rest room, an errant busboy almost tackled me like I was a Dolphins quarterback. I thought they were supposed to yield the right of way to the guest? All in all, will I be back? Without a doubt.

My husband and I wanted to try somewhere new for our anniversary and decided to come here. We usually head to Smith and Wollensky on South Beach but decided to give this place a try. We are extremely happy that we did ! The food was fantastic . There was nothing negative about the meal. Our meal was started with a delicious scallop and puréed corn dish. The dish was so beautiful it reminded me of something that could be made on Top Chef. I had the Shrimp and lobster fra diavolo also very good. We would definitely come back. This place is extremely expensive so be ready. The shrimp cocktail is charged per piece and its $6 each. Dinner for four was $400, with no alcohol.

No doubt this establishment is beautiful, great ambiance and since I was there right before the holidays the decorations added to the beauty. I took the advice of fellow yelpers and requested an outside table. The views are spectacular! You literally are sitting under the 17th street bridge, which is pretty amazing itself. The new construction is so modern looking its kind of artsy. The boats and yachts cruising by are quite a sight. Especially when they are lit up with Christmas lights. BUT, we did wait over half an hour past our reservation time for our table. Stone crabs, at $22 a pop were good, but they are no "Joe's" Stuffed Maine lobster was good, not great! The baked potato was awesome!! Dirty belvedere martinis at $14 pop.... add a snooty waiter with average service, our bill of over $300 was not worth the price. I would come back for drinks and appetizers as I love the ambiance, but a whole dinner here seems overpriced for the food.

Celebrated my cousins birthday here. I must say, I love the ambiance, the service is top notch and the added plus is that it is also accessible by boat. This place is perfect for an intimate, romantic dinner! The food is on the pricey side, good but does not have the wow factor except for the desserts, enormous for one person, so we ended up sharing.

A+ all across the board! From the valet parking attendant to the toilet paper in the restroom, everything was fantastic! The atmosphere is very inviting, fancy yet casual. You can fit in wearing a suit and tie or jeans. The service is OUTSTANDING! Our server, Randy, was very thorough and knowledgeable, able to direct me in the right direction on the menu and had a fellow server walk us through the 200+ wine list. He made our dinning experience pleasurable, taking the time to get to know us and even recommend other places and things to do while here vacationing. Our food was served in record time and exactly as ordered! The filets, each prepared a different way, were full of flavor and extremely tender. Not to mention the wonderful flavor and tenderness of the lobster tail and jumbo lump crab meat, mouth watering good and cooked to perfection! And I can not forget to mention the fabulous Key Lime Pie for dessert. Wow! I don't know how else to describe this magnificent piece of heaven that is so tasty it almost melts in your mouth. Just, Wow! By far, this establishment knocks every other fine dining restaurant to the curb. I would recommend Grille 66 to anyone looking for a great dining experience and fabulous food. Thank you Grille 66 for making this a birthday dinner I will never forget. I am hoping to spend many more birthday dinners enjoying this same A+ excellence!

This is definitely one of the best dinners we've had in Fort Lauderdale. The food was great. The fra diablo was awesome. I couldn't imagine anything on the menu not being good. The patio view of the intercostal is nice. Service was great. Definitely will be going back.

Love this place. In fact i even went to this restaurant right before me and my Fiance (at the time) went to the beach where I asked her to be my wife. Great food and beautiful view of the intra coastal. Only downside food is a Little pricey

One of my favorite restaurants in Ft Lauderdale! I love this place and it has never disappointed. Service is always impeccable. If weather permits, I recommend sitting outside with views of the Inter-coastal and amazing yachts docked on the pier. Very romantic candle lit tables with white table clothes. Often times they will have a pianist playing inside the restaurant and bar area. Comfortable bar seating as well. Very Nice International and Domestic Wine List. We ordered a beautiful Chateauneuf de Pape...and then another as the evening progressed. Stone Crab Claw Platter was the hit of the evening with everyone and beside being enough to feed an army...it was FABULOUS! Lyonnaise potatoes. HEAVENLY! Spinach w/ garlic and Olive oil. EXCELLENT. I've had both the lobster and also filet mignon with bearnaise sauce here. Always grilled to perfection. PARADISE!

I am a local, and I am embarrassed to say, it never occurred to me to eat dinner at this fabulous waterfront restaurant. We started out with 6 huge blue point oysters and 3 different condiments. Scotch bonnet (not hot) ginger mignonette, bloody mary sauce and a mango cucumber salsa (cool refreshing surprise). These three totally different condiments created a fun tasting experience. Next up; Maryland crab cake drizzled with a delicious remoulade, accompanied with a sweet corn jalapeno relish. I loved this dish! We also tried the pan seared scallops with a truffle cream of corn accompanied with main lobster meat. The 12oz filet was encrusted with blue cheese. Being a rosemary fan, I tried the rosemary butter. Save the calories and skip the butter. The brussel sprouts had mushrooms, shallots and were tossed in a soy ginger. AMAZING! The service was spot on and the food was spectacular. Definitely check Grille 66 out!

I have been eating here for over 10 years and this is the first time I have written a review. This is truly a 5 star experience. The service is top notch. The head waiter, Tommy has been there forever as well as the wine guy. I can only tell you that the Sea Bass is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I say only because that is the only entree I ever order there. It is almost 2" thick and crusted with macadamia nuts. It is the BEST sea bass I have ever had. The forest mushroom side dish is wonderful. I finish it off with the same dessert each time as well, chocolate fudge cake with raspberry sauce. The only negative I can say about that cake is that the serving size used to be twice as big as it is now. This place is very pricey, the sea bass is $35. But it is a treat that you won't forget! My husband orders the seafood fra Diablo each time and is never disappointed. Large shrimp and plenty of lobster with pasta in a spicy sauce. His favorite dessert is the cookies and biscotti tray. Top it off with a fine cappuccino and you'll want to return again and again! I've been told they have a happy hour that's very good and reasonable priced.

Such romantic place... Great views, fun bar area! Ok, how about food? Well, supposably their steak is great! 1800F and stuff! But... Filet was cooked to perfection but very blahh tasting! Lacking flavor. Had better elsewhere. Pork chops were excellent! Moist, spicy sauce, not too greasy or buttery too. Really enjoyed that dish!

A great new find for us in Fort Lauderdale. This place has amazing views and wonderful food...it's definitely not inexpensive but very worth it. We had one really good waiter and the other was obviously not happy to be there....that was the only negative. I had the stuffed Lobster which was Amazing!!!!!

When this place was the "California" at Pier 66 it was one of my favorites, but there was a change in ownership. It became Grill 66, which to my mind ruined what was a really good thing. However, food and the service are excellent at its present day successor, Grill 66, but it darn well ought to be for the price, however, with nothing I would really note as superlative. Their steaks are delicious, broiled at 1,800 degrees, aged 28 days, which seems to me to be so much identical to a Ruth Chris I wouldn't know the difference. As for seafood, also very good though I'd say I'd favor Truluck's as being its equivalent if not better. In my opinion your best culinary bets for starters are their Colossal Jumbo Lump Crab with comes with two sauces, the Filet Mignon Carpaccio when in season, Florida Stone Crab. The one time I had lobster here I was disappointed to find that it wasn't a Maine as I had expected but in fact a lesser African import, so before you order that, I would ask. As for any meat dish entrée it's all very much, as I said, Ruth Chris and for fish, pretty much the same as what you'll find at a Bonefish Grill, particularly their Macadamia Nut Encrusted with about the only difference being that they generally offer with a Chilean Sea Bass rather than with a snapper. Some people come dressed up but others come casual. It really doesn't make much difference, but the patrons are generally of an older financially well-heeled lot, some just off their nearby multimillion dollar megayacht. Also, though well-dressed casual is more of the norm, every time I've been there I sort of felt that there was a rather snooty pretentious atmosphere about the place with nothing to really be pretentious about, but more particularly if you show up without reservations even the place may be dead empty. I know I sort of went through an interrogation last time when hardly anyone was there with a rather surly "Oh, you don't have a reservation?" "Have you dined with us before?" "So you have, well just a moment, I'll see what I can do for you." Though I can't really say I'm a fan of the place, the food, the location and the décor definitely make it a Four Stars establishment.

One of the best restaurants we have been to! For starters the service was on point from the moment we arrived. The server was cheerful and helpful and did not seem to be rushing us between courses. We took our time and had a lovely meal. The food was DELICIOUS! I had the grilled chicken and my boyfriend ordered the seafood pasta, and we both agreed these were one of the best meals we have had in a long time. In combination with the service, beautiful views and ambiance, this was one of the BEST restaurant experiences we have had. We will be back for sure!

Great service and ambiance. The Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail lives up to it's name. Every item exceeded our expectations, while the Yellowtail Snapper was my favorite because of the freshness and unique sauce with rock shrimp and artichoke hearts added to it. A grandma at the next table had the same and cleaned her plate before I did. That's saying something because even their portions are "jumbo".

My husband and I have been wanting to try Grill 66 for years. The Grill manager Peter, waiter Tommy and the lovely hostesses delivered 5 star service every step of the way. The fantastic wine selection, the thick Tenderloin steaks with truffle butter, the apple arugala salad with goat cheese & hazelnut, and Russian fingerling rosemary potatoes were all to die for! The ambiance is like being on a ship surrounded by mega yachts at the Hyatt Pier 66's new renovated marina where we strolled for a romantic night under the stars with the view of the beautifully blue lit crown pier top of the Hyatt tower as a finally of an amazing evening. The most impressive American style steak restaurant in South Florida. The Grill 66 also offers an amazing seafood / fish menu that we can't wait to try next!

Well, I sincerely prefer to not give negative reviews, being I am in the industry. However, this establishment not only discriminated based on gender stereotypes, but on sexual orientation as well. The menu looked delicious, we were even complimented a bottle of wine from the manager Peter, as an apology for his comments on my "body hair being offensive," but after the appalling references from the services staff as well, pertaining to my sexual orientation, we simply could NOT eat or continue our first honey moon dinner in this establishment. The manager then asked to pay a small stipend towards our hotel room, $50, for "not accommodating us to our expectations." Let me make this very clear Peter, or whatever your name was. This sort of behavior and treatment is beyond inappropriate, discriminating, and OFFENSIVE as you refer to me. It is simply cruel. You will be hearing from me again.

I went here for a Christmas Eve dinner with my boyfriends family. I was overall not blown away by my experience here. Firstly, as visitors the place was kind of difficult to find amongst the neighboring hotels etc. The valet though was complimentary and quick. We had reservations and were seated quite quickly. The ambience is very elegant. we dined outside and there was a nice view but a huge plastic tarp separated us frim that beautiful view. the heated lamps made dining outside very comfortable. When I asked for the wine list, the server told me there was not a list, which I find very hard to believe. He then proceeded to list to me all the wines he could remember off the top of his head and it was not very helpful. I ended up getting a very expensive wine because he didn't give me a list and while it was very tasty, I probably would have opted for another. The food was average to above average. The prices are steep and the entrees are basically only protein. If you want something besides a large portion of meat, I suggest ordering a side dish. I ordered the pork chops and was not impressed. The chops were quite tough.

I heard nothing but good things about this place, but was discouraged to say I had a horrible first experience. First of all, we had Randy as our server. The restaurant was barely busy, yet it took us forever to get our drink order taken. After we finally received them, he didn't come back around for 30 minutes. We were finally able to place an order, which took over an hour. On top of it, he was very unprofessional when our friend was asking questions regarding the menu. When all was said and done, I don't think I'll be making a second trip.

Management reached out to me and handled everything very well. Every business has hiccups, but what differentiates them is the way they take care of them. They did an excellent job and I will definitely return.

Horrible and rude service provided by the host and hostess. A 15 minute wait turned into 1 hour with no apology or explanation or even recognition from the staff. As we were walking out of the establishment, a female hostess was fraternizing with a male friend. Not only were we not thanked for patronage or even said goodbye to, instead the hostess said "keep walking ladies, keep walking." The treatment we received was unacceptable, embarrassing and unprofessional.

Had early reservations for last night, New Year's Eve. Table was ready when we arrived, the restaurant was packed. Have been there several times previously and overall had good experiences. Noise level was a bit too high for my liking but was tolerable. Shared a lobster bisque and Maryland crab cake. The soup at $14 for a small portion was watery and not very good and the crab cake although tasty was a bit too dry. Main course was filet Mignon that came out as ordered, very tender and the salmon was good as well. Dessert was the best part of the meal. Carrot cake served with pineapple was delicious and their chocolate cake rich beyond belief. Overall service was good considering how busy they were.

Sat outside on an evening in June and had dinner. The filet was melt in your mouth delicious. The mashed potatoes made an excellent side dish. Four of us split a HUGE piece of chocolate cake for dessert. The service, food and atmosphere were all top notch. This is a great place for a romantic dinner or a night out with coworkers or friends. WIthout a doubt I will return.

great food! the portion size was a lot bigger than expected, also great staff. although I do disagree with the noise level, it was very hard to hear the person across my table because so many people were talking so loud. Kids were present and would laugh and just be kids, but people come here not expecting this so just letting people know about my first experience. I came on a Saturday night.

I came in this restaurant with my family including four teens with varied appetites and tastes. They were all able to find something on the menu. The adults enjoyed the generously portioned Caesar salad, calamari, and fresh oysters on the half shell. Our server, Randy, was always nearby and able to answer questions, provide refills, or bring us anything that we needed. By the time we received our entrées, we were already quite full from our appetizers. However, we dug in and enjoyed the 8 oz fillet mignon with lump crabmeat and asparagus, the 22 ounce bone in ribeye, the buttered linguini and steak for the teens. we ordered plenty of family style sides for the table, including truffled macaroni and cheese, potatoes au gratin and sautéed spinach. My personal favorite was the truffled macaroni and cheese. After we finished dinner (and I use that term loosely because we could not finish everything), we were compelled by Randy to look at the dessert menu. We ordered crème brûlée and cheesecake. The cheesecake was topped with assorted berries, including strawberries blueberries and raspberries in a glaze and topped with whipped cream. The crème brûlée was topped with berries as well. Both were very rich and definitely desserts that could be shared. Overall our experience at this restaurant was memorable and exceeded our expectations.

I make a point to have one meal at Grill 66 each time I am in Ft Lauderdale. So far I've had the pleasure of dining here 4 or 5 times over the past few years, and it is consistently great! Sophisticated experience - staff and decor, and excellent food - steak, seafood and sides alike - and I have to also mention the great salads. Truth be told, I'm not put off by fanciness, in fact I usually appreciate it, and for me it is a plus rather than a minus. STEAK - really expertly prepared, and not ridiculously priced. New York Strip was delicious, tender and beautifully seared, and a perfect medium rare. The fries were incredible, I know fries are fries, but these frites were crispy and sweet and the perfect pairing to my delightful steak. SEAFOOD - The fried shrimp were awesome, not over cooked, super fresh and yummy. One of my dinner companions had the fish special of the evening, and it must have been as good as she claimed, for despite the large portion it disappeared quickly. Am looking forward to the next time Ill be back!

Amazing 5 star service. Never had to ask for a thing. Napkin was folded on the table when you return. Drinks always refilled. The little things that make the experience that much better. Servers were knowledgeable. All our food was great. From the filet mignon to the salmon and special grouper. the truffle fries are to die for and the deserts were great! Sit outside if you can! Will come back again!

Have been to Grille 66 numerous times and all experiences have been amazing. The food is very delicious and always tastes good. The menu is large and diverse. The employees are professional and courteous. They always know what we want and are able to help us out. The bread is good. The steaks are always well cooked. However, the restaurant is very fancy and I would not recommend bringing children younger than 10. It is also expensive.

Food and wine was very good. Service was horrible. View was horrible - giant yacht docked on the pier entirely blocked view of the water. On the service alone, I won't be returning. Our waiter became very irate with us over tying to split a bill, and was very vocal to ALL his colleagues walking by about how upset he was. Really? So when we asked if we could split the check, the proper response should have been "No, sorry, we are not setup to do that." Other smaller issues with service, and Dinging Room Manager had no interest in hearing about it upon our departure. So goodbye. I will spend my dollars elsewhere. I expect and demand better treatment when spending over $600 for a meal.

This is definitely my favorite restaurant. The service was amazing. The view on the inter coastal is breath taking. There are mega yachts all over. I always have dinner at this restaurant every trip to Fort Lauderdale. I can't get enough. It is worth every penny.

There is only one word for our dinner last night at Grill 66 and that word is perfect! We sat outside overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and the view was great. I had filet mignon with peppercorn sauce and my wife had almond crusted Chilean Sea Bass. Both meals were scrumptious! For sides we had Delmonico potatoes and spinach, also excellent. We topped it off with Key Lime pie that we split and like everything else it was excellent. Finally, special kudos to our server Jon. He provided some great suggestions and his service was impeccable. In short, it's rare for me to go out for dinner and coming away feeling that the entire event was flawless and special. Our dinner at Grill 66 was certainly that. I can't wait to return to Fort Lauderdale so I can visit Grill 66 again!

Okay, I am from SF (actually wine country), so take that into consideration. Stayed an extra night in Ft Lauderdale after a company sponsored cruise. BTW it was freezing and could not wait to get back to 70 degree weather in Feb. First of all, you know you are far from Silicon Valley when it says no cell phones on the menu, The service was not 5-star at all, go to Napa and see how it is done right. Serve to the left, pick up from the right. The fsh was excellent, overall I thought it was pricey for FLA. The big disaster was the creme brulee, watery and warm. It shoudl be custardy and cool on the inside. They had a great wine list, but again I am used to CA prices.

This place ain't cheap (so why, you may ask, was I eating there?), but it is quite good. Really excellent steaks, fine seafood and salads. Great fries, too. The service is pleasant, and interesting, and the intracoastal waterway, pier pilings views are quintessentially Ft. Lauderdale. If I gave it a 5 that would mean that even at not-cheap prices you should go there often -- bankrupt yourself, effectively. If you can, do it. If you can't, go now and then, split a bottle of wine, eat a fantastic steak, and enjoy.

I usually read others' reviews but don't contribute unless the entire experience was either spectacular or dismally disappointing. Our first visit to 66 Grille has a mixed rating. We tried to make a 6:30 pm reservation but were told nothing was available until 8 pm. So we placed this reservation and showed up on time. The place was packed and we waited... for 1 full hour before being seated! During that wait, sevel tables opened up and were not further in use. When we asked the manager why we couldn't be seated, he rudely told us to mind our own business. Overbooking may work for airlines but not for hungry people with many other options. A reservation for a certain time means that BOTH parties have a responsibilty to be on time! I resent my time being wasted by others' in this way and the fact that this restuarant takes its customers for granted in such cavalier fashion. But once we were finally seated well past our hungriest moments, the service and food could not have been better. Everything on the menu that our party of 5 had was superb. The servers were always anticipating our next needs. If it weren't for our extremely unpleasant experience up front we would have had a 5 star experience and rating for them. As it is we won't be back and have already let others know about the lack of professionalism regarding any preplanned trips they might contemplate here. We have been there twice... First and Last!

Not impressed. Sat outside for the "best waterfront dining in Fort Lauderdale" I suppose it would have been if there weren't a 3 story mega-yacht docked alongside. Looking at a bright white shiny wall is not what I call a stunning view.. So 1 star for view. We were there for the very first time trying it out with the Dine-out Fort lauderdale special this month. I have a strong feeling this restaurant caters to deep pockets, judging by the $200,000+ cars parked out front and the exorbitant prices on the menu. So, they don't want to waste time with normal folk...as a result....place was not very full....However the Tuna, Crabcakes and Filet mignon and Chocolate torte were superb. With the Dine out Fort Lauderdale promotion, Dinner for 4 with one bottle of wine with tax and 20% (included on bill) tip was $237.

Great food...check Atmosphere...check Killer location...check Old school service...check Grill 66 has it all. I was In Ft. Lauderdale on business, and had a chance to try several of the local iconic restaurants. Since I was staying at the Hyatt Pier 66, it was a short walk over. We didn't have reservations, but were seated right away and from the bread to the dessert, it was a top-notch experience. I had the grilled shrimp and scallops and they were both flavorful and perfectly cooked. One of my table-mates had the mushroom soup and said it was the best he had ever tasted. The creme brulee was classic and perfectly executed. The entire experience was classy and elegant, and delicious. Don't miss it if you get the chance.

We came there for a fast drink, as we were in the area, sat at the bar facing marina and saw menu for happy hours. O, well, my husband said, I can always eat. All was half price:) we had shrimp and calamari, crab cake potatoes skins, I had wine and my husband 2 very well made drinks. All was $40 plus tip. In addition to view, nice ambience, you can't beat it. Cute bartender too. Food was delicious, serves prompt, wine was excellent. Will definitely come back

This spot really impressed me. Everything was excellent, from appetizers and salads to the main course. I had the stuffed lobster and it was absolutely one of the best I have ever had, superb. I would recommend going and giving it a try. Drinks were poured well. The atmosphere is upscale and the place is right on the water overlooking the marina and yachts. It's on the Pier 66 grounds but not run by the hotel. I made sure to compliment the manager on the quality of the food and the service, something I normally don't go out of my to do. It wasn't cheap but well worth it. Some of the better food I have had in the Lauderdale area.

The reservations started out great. When we arrived, they had us both a table inside and a table outside. I wasn't sure if it was going to rain or not, as expected in South Florida. I had 2 vendors with me...all in all, we were a party of 5. We ordered 1st drinks and some appetizers of shrimp and calamari and the lump crab meat. These were delicious. Our waiter (who was VERY slow) finally came and took our order. The specials sounded good. 2 people got the 8 oz barrel cut fillet mignon (1 medium rare...one medium well), one got the 12 oz fillet (medium), crab cakes and i had the 12 oz NY Strip (medium rare). Every single steak was over-cooked. Not by just a hint, but my MR strip that was supposed to be MR was medium well. The steaks were bland (had a nice sear, but no seasoning at all...just meat in a skillet for way too long!! The $8 baked potato was "well baked" for sure. We also ordered a table side of mashed potatoes ($10) that might as well have been called garlic with a piece of potato in it. They were so overwhelmed with garlic, I believe 1 spoonful was eaten. For desert, there was key lime pie, chocolate cake and creme brulee. The brulee was good, the chocolate cake was out of this world, and the key lime pie was good, but really, really rich. I would have sent sent the steak back, but the waiter never came back to ask us if the food was okay. The steaks were bland and the $8 baked potato was "well baked" for sure. He spent more time tending to the restaurant owner (Wayne Huizenga) who was seated the next table over. He would come to our table once out of every 5th time he went to theirs.... All in all, nice view, crappy service, and below average food. Not worth the price...I would vote for one of the nice chain steak houses before I'd go back here for a steak.

The food was great, the only reason it got 4 stars is because the service was not great, a bit on the rude side. But, with a AWSOME location it made up for it, I do recommend to any one staying or not staying at the Hyatt.

Superb service; great food; nice atmosphere. Enjoyed our wedding anniversary here and really scored points with my wife. I highly recommend it.

While staying at the resort during a work trip, this was the first restaurant we tried out. Very upscale and classy place, we did not know this and were under dressed but they were accommodating and gave us no issues. The restaurant is right on the water and has some nice views. You can actually smoke cigars in a certain lower outdoor section. Service was fantastic throughout as the waiter helped with the menu and gave some tips on the area. In terms of food, it is what you would expect when paying the types of prices you will pay here. The oysters were a great starter as expected on a waterfront restaurant. I had a chicken dish which was a much larger portion than expected at an upscale restaurant and was fantastic. Burgers were also a good size and pretty good as well. Would be a great romantic night option if you are in the area.

Wow, we just can't win can we? We made reservations and asked about sitting with a view of the Inter coastal. We arrived and was escorted by the Hostess Jennifer. She tried to seat us in the middle of the room, practically on the laps of the next table. Maybe 18 inches would have separated us and the table to our side. Lips immediately stated we would not sit there. I stated, we called and confirmed our wishes 3 times and each and every time I called I was confirmed regarding the table we wished for. The Hostess Jennifer was RUDE, unprofessional and just a dog of a representative of Grill66. We were finally sat with no view and at a table which was used as an outdoor table which they just threw a table cloth over. This place stinks. The Appetizer of Goose Liver was eh ok. The Appetizer of Crab Cake was a nice rendition. The Salmon entree was good but cheap with whatever stuffing was supposed to be on it. For 38 bucks could it have come with a side dish? The 2 pound Lobster tasted ok but for 75 dollars was another total rip off. No sides at all. Go somewhere else for a special occasion. The price points are over the top, the ingredients used are not top notch. But, specifically, the service is RUDE aka known as the hostess Jennifer. I feel like someone came in and pick pocketed my wallet.

Ok, the place was not bad, but not at all what I expected though. First, we went in early January and it was cold that night. They seat us outside because inside was full. While they had a clue heaters outside, you can't feel them unless you're walking right pass them. Once I was seated, I was freezing again( we're from Miami so we are tropical) they tried their best to block the wind but wind was still blowing in through the flaps. The atmosphere itself was good. It was inviting and they made us feel welcome. Our waiter was great, and my food was very good. A little under cooked to me but not enough to complain. And it was well seasoned which I really like. They have every wine in the book, but I'm not a wine drinker and I know nothing about wine. The view is nice but not spectacular or anything. Also if its your first time going, you may get lost because its way in a the cut. I think they should have some signs out there to direct us once were nearby. They should also have more options on the menu. Price? Not sure what to say, most restaurant we are paying for the name and location of the place. Not really the quality of the food. Over all I had a great experience, but just not what I was expecting. And I would go again.

What can I say that hasn't been written below? The food was okay but expensive ($20 hamburger). The view (looking across the narrow Inter-coastal) wasn't amazing but it was nice. Service is okay but generally lacking in enthusiasm. I've been here a few times with friends who like to goggle over the bartender - who is, in fact, the best thing about this place. Clientele are 101% Caucasian, Republican golfer-types. Generally, I wouldn't refer anyone here unless they were retired and from Kansas, nor would I come here myself without coaxing from friends. EXPENSIVE & DULL. And if you don't make reservations, they generally will not seat you even if there is only one table occupied. You'll have to eat at the bar like me...

Once part of the revered Pier 66 Hotel property, Grille 66 is now a separate entity from its long-of-tooth Hyatt neighbor. The story goes that local businessman and former Miami Dolphins' owner, Wayne Huizenga, bought the whole shebang a few years back, determined the hotel would cost a fortune to renovate so sold it, keeping the prime waterfront property and marina for himself - including Grille 66. It's a beautiful room, bright, open, on the intra-coastal waterway with surprisingly good acoustics for a space its size. I've dined at Grille 66 several times over the last 7 or 8 years, recently coming away somewhat disappointed versus previous visits. The menu remains a lively collection of local and east coast fish and seafood, fashionable accoutrements - fruit relishes, wasabi this, aioli that, but prime aged steaks top the menu. Our appetizers were the Maryland crab cake, tuna tartar, and fried shrimp and calamari. The crab cake was baked and served with a fresh jalapeno and corn relish and a remoulade-like sauce on the side. The crab cake was tasty, but the chunky, sweet relish concoction didn't work in my view - just too much going on there. The tuna tartar in tower presentation was nothing special, the crème fraiche and cassava crackers were nice touches, but the usual canned wasabi powder added little, lacking any texture or contrasting consistency. That's where the dish could have soared; say with fresh-grated wasabi or mild horseradish root. And I didn't get the deep-fried shrimp calamari combination. Everyone had one shrimp, ho-hum, leaving the calamari, which was hot, crunchy and complimented by a well-balanced red chili sauce. Hey chef, pick one or the other. Yellow tail snapper was the chef's catch of the day - beautiful pieces of fish, firm and succulent, rich and flavorful, and basically ruined by an avalanche of fruity, veggie, salsa, relish, whatever. Why would you want to bury such a great piece of fish under a fruit salad? Everyone agreed, served on the side or not at all, leaving the fish to stand on its own. The South African lobster, the standard for cold-water lobster tails, was delicious but nowhere near the 10 ounces each represented by our waiter. My NY strip missed as well, overcooked and missing the prime, fatty richness I've enjoyed in the past. The mixed greens, Caesar and house salads were abundant and delicious. The spinach and potato sides were hot and tasty, and enjoyed by all. The sommelier really knows his stuff, recommending a pinot and chardonnay; both were yummy, well balanced, and reasonably priced. Not sure what's up with all the fruit relishes, salsas as toppings. Have found such presentations usually were attempts to make up for lesser quality fish and meats, or simply inexperience in the kitchen. That's not the case at Grille 66. We definitely had an off night, but Grille 66 deserves the benefit of the doubt based on past experiences.

Great views but packed in like sardines; great food but no different than any other steak house - disappointed with limited local fish dishes. Would recommend for a first visit but nothing special to return excluding nice view - if u get seated with one.

Great night but hold onto your wallet. We had 8 people for dinner and had a really great steak dinner. We were there for a long time but the food and drinks were all top notch. Jethro our waiter was extremely nice and provided really good service.

If you've been to Ruth's Cris Steakhouse then you've been to Grill 66 in Fort Lauderdale. The menu here is essentially the same as the menu at RC from the steak selection all the way down to the side orders. Thats not to say it's really a bad thing, its just that when I'm on vacation I want and expect something fresh. Grill 66 was like a glitch in the Matrix. The one thing that this place does have over Ruth's Cris is tables right on the inter-continental waterway. You get sat right on the water and can watch huge yachts roll by as you chew on your steak. We were sat at one of these tables right away and offered drinks and appetizers. We ordered waters (we had been drinking all day and were quite dehydrated) that were delivered right away and refilled promptly. We also got a crab cocktail appetizer that was also served on the fly. The crab was decent but contained way to many shells. For dinner I got an 8 oz filet cooked medium rare with creamed spinach and mashed potatoes. The steak was a little over cooked and lacked the flavor of a butter drenched Ruth's Cris steak. However, the creamed and mashed were the bomb diggity and definitely worth the 12 dolla price tag (they fed all three of us thankfully). Unfortunately, upon recieving my meal, the waiter neglected to inform me the plate was 3000 degrees before I thouched it. Yeeeeouch. The food was plenty though and we turned down dessert even though we were offered it. Our waiter was a little smug and we felt like he waited down because we didn't order drinks or dessert. Overall our experience here was pleasant but not too much to right home about. If you want a steak, then I would get it somewhere else.

What an uninspiring experience... Unenthusiastic service, so-so food, and not the best at accommodating for lack of reservation (considering that I came well before the dinner hour and was one of 10 or so diners. No menu items that really stand out, just your standard American seafood. Basically, the view alone isn't worth seeing, and the prices don't justify the service and quality. Skip.

Great mix of steak and seafood with the best spot on the intacoastoal waterway. Service is outstanding with a staff that I see over and over and comforting. Staeks always cooked perfect. Great selection of fish and even a few pastas worth ordering. Great wine list to go with the menu. Very accomodating staff.
